Eid 2021 Toys Donation Drive
Eid-ul-Adha is a day of celebration for Muslims across the world where they reflect on the importance of sacrifice. This is the culmination of the pilgrimage which Muslims partake in at least once in their lifetime and celebrate with a feast which is shared between their families, neighbours and the poor.
Given the difficult 2020-2021 everyone around the world has been through, we thought this would be an ideal moment to try and bring joy to children across the north-west by collecting toys which can be gifted to children. Over the month of July we received hundreds of toys from far and wide, some travelled from Preston, Blackburn and some from London to contribute to our toy drive. We packed and prepared each toy – adding in an Eid card.
Each of these toys were delivered to schools or within our 135 summer holiday school parcel. We additionally donated toys to Derian House, Birtenshaw Hall School, Gateway Support Group, Clarendon primary (Haywood Park), St. James, Atherton High, Harper Green, Pikes Lane and St. Paul’s primary school.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for contributing and our corporate partners and welfare partners. Truly none of this would be possible without your support.
